LifeSafer Intelligent Speed Assistance for Virginia ISAP

What LifeSafer Does in Virginia ISAP
LifeSafer's role is the approved ISA device side of the process. VASAP remains the program administrator, and Virginia DMV or the court controls the licensing or court requirement that placed a participant into ISAP.
ISA Device Installation
An approved provider installs the certified Intelligent Speed Assistance equipment required for program participation.
Required Device Service
Participants return to an authorized provider for required inspections, servicing and device-related compliance needs.
Authorized Removal
After VASAP confirms successful completion, the approved service provider handles authorized device removal.
Virginia ISAP Enrollment and LifeSafer Installation Are Separate Steps

VASAP Enrollment Comes Before Provider Service
VASAP's current client portal separates court-referred and DMV administrative enrollment. The required documentation can include a court referral or DMV compliance summary, vehicle registration information and an ISAP vendor choice.

LifeSafer ISA Does Not Replace the Driver Improvement Requirement
In the Virginia DMV excessive-demerit-point pathway, DMV requires continuous ISAP enrollment for nine months and completion of the required Driver Improvement Clinic. The ISA device and the 8-hour Driver Improvement course are separate requirements.
